In-Camera Shoot

Assignment: “Walking”

 

As a group, shoot and edit IN THE CAMERA and at school,
a minimum 3 minute video, using about 40 shots

(shots should average about 3-5 seconds in length max)

 

Of course, using all the elements of composition, camera basics, and your best friend, THE TRIPOD.

 

This is what you need to sh0ot:

1 or 2 people getting out of a car,

walking from the parking lot,

then into the school,
through the school somewhere(not upstairs),

Stop at a drinking fountain.

Stop at a Pop/Water/Vending Machine.

Back through the school somewhere,

Then back out of the school to throw away your pop/water bottle, then,

Back into the school somewhere.

Then,  end up in the TV studio or TV Classroom,

Sit down at a table and do something.


You must:

Utilize ALL the elements of composition.

Utilize shot basics.

Utilize a TRIPOD

 

Your video should be 2/3:

Medium Close ups,

Close ups

Extreme Close ups.

 

You need to WRITE down you list of shots...meaning you need to plan this out before you go, so you have an idea of what you are doing.

It is your flight plan, your outline, you precursor to scripting.

You need to TURN IT IN before you shoot...

 

 

 

 

Example:

 

1.     ECU of wheels of car pulling into parking spot.

2.     ECU of ignition and key turning off.

3.     MS of car from front at both car doors open.

4.     CU of car door shutting

5.     CU person face

6.     MS of person grabbing backpacks

7.     MS of door shutting

8.     ECU of hand pushing lock button on key.

9.     ECU of tail lights flashing as car locks.

10. ELS of students Turning and walking towards school

11. MS/Full Shot of 2 students walking towards the camera

12. MCU of Camera behind heads walking towards school

13. ECU of feet as they step up curb

14. MS of ...
